I would buy a 16' Arima over a 16' C-Dory. Matter of fact I did. I checked out both and the Arima was a much nicer boat. And a better ride too. But you are right they are both two person boats.

Another thing I just found: An 17' Alumaweld Stryker weighs more then a 16' Cuddy cabin C dory....By about a few hundred lbs...Stryker: 1,150, C Dory: 850/925...Definitely something to look at when you are gonna consider how it rides....

I have decided to admit I am an addict and will probablly build all of the rods mentioned above. I just completed an HS9000 and will now begin the XST 1084. The XST 1141 will be next. Thank you all for your advice. B. Lade

9'6 is the best all around length if you only fish the cowlitz. i prefer a shorter rod usually, unless i'm casting light gear long distances. a 9'6 is a pain in the ass at best in tight quarters.
