O's, I run the lami in g-1000/certified pro and the espirit models. My personal opinion is that any of the mentioned rods feel better then the g-loomis gl-2's but when put up too the gl-3's it's a nother story. The gl-2's seem to spongey and the gl-3's are out of my price range. So I stay with the lami's.
I due have a 9'-6" gl-3 4-8 ultra light spinning rod that kicks some a$$.As far as the drift rod question,I think it depends on the person who uses it to determain wether to go with a 4-8 or 8-12 or 8-17 and on down the line.My favorite hands down drift rod and set up for steelies is the lami 8' 6"
6-10 summer run espirit with a calcutta 151 with 10lb maxima ultra green for winter and
summer run.Good luck,
