From what I can tell, more people die in DUI accidents every year than are murdered (regardless of the weapon). So why do we restrict felons from weapons, have back ground checks, a huge range of gun laws and restrictions, but allow those convicted of DUI's to continue to buy alcohol ( or Marijuana). Always been a quandary for me, as it would be so simple to at least restrict it some. All the laws try to stop driving, not drinking. For me its like telling a felon they can have the gun and bullets, but that its illegal to take it off their property. It just isn't going to have the desired effect.
