During the fall, all I do is fly fish the Kalama. Was having multi-multi fish hook-up days in the last couple weeks. Use small pattern (6's and 8's). The best place to start is the fly water above Mehaffy's campground. That is beginners hole. Lots of great water with a bit of chrome fish in it right now (report as of 7:30 am this morning).
