If I wanted to go the fastest, accelerate quickly, and do it in a real noise making F1 car, (assuming I could actually start and drive it ), I’ll go with the 2004 or 2005 Ferrari. All things considered, I think the real quick lap times of today really are about the contact patch, tire technology, and a bigger / wider stance.

What does impress , is that the current crop of F1 cars actually start the race with a full fuel cell /tank, and they never pit to re fill or top off for more fuel. So they start the race with nearly 300 lbs of fuel, and burn it down to to the finish. That’s gotta be tuff to set the car up to be fast with the huge difference in fuel weight over the span of a race...

That, and F1 racing still has best qualifying process in all of racing. Almost as fun to watch as the race itself.
