STEELYDAN,

My favorite Salmon rod is the GL3 HS 981C. It is 8'2" rated 10-20. You can backbounce, run plugs (K-16's no problem) troll in the bays or rivers.. it has a great tip and enough backbone to bring in the biggest monsters in the water. The only draw back for some people is the fact that it is a 1 piece rod. The 982 is also a wonderful salmon rod.... a little bigger (12-25) but still a great rod.

The HSR 1021's and 1023's are also great rods, 8'6" 2 piece, rated 10-20 and 12-25... I fished the IMX 1021's this year in our Fall bay/river fisheries (Rogue, Coquille, Coos, Tillamook Bay) and they were awesome... it is nice to be able to watch your herring spinning through your rod tip

The 1021 and 1023 would probably be better drift rods, due to the extra length...

Thanks for letting me play.
