I don't disagree with your assessment of the role or purpose of armed conflict. (To quote General George Patton, "No one won a war by dying for his country; you win a war by making the opposing SOB die for his country.") My comments above are directed at the current administration and its deleterious effect on the armed services. The military, like all federal employees, take an oath to the US Constitution, not to any particular leader. Unfortunately for the US, the current president demands loyalty to him over and above loyalty to the Constitution. That is un-American, and that is my complaint.
