Adult Chinook are available (Spring/Summer/Fall) probably March-September in "huntable/eatable numbers". They, as mammals, need to eat about every day and that leaves 5 months when they still need the adult fish.

And the hatchery fish being used too feed them, as Salmo has noted, are Falls which just increases food primarily August and September.
