Drifted the N. Fork Lewis today. Found some springers. The reason for this post is the fact that I saw smelt in the river I mean 1000's of them. It just blew my away. I was drifting in 2 to 3 feet of water when I first saw them. They were coming up so thick you could not see the bottem of the river. When I stoped by the local watering hole for a cold one the old timers told me it had been 20 years since they had head of smelt runs like that. Some others also confermed this. Bottel line I was just happy to see something that had not been there come back. Things do have an up side.
