Zaq, most if not all the fish out of the Quinalt River that go up Cook Creek are hatchery fish heading to their awaiting ponds. If Blueback had "a few 50 to 100 fish days on Cook Creek" you can bet it was with a net. I doubt he knows what a GL3 or maybe even a corky is laugh . Letty Potter knows what those are - she and a couple friends of mine came close to hooking 50 winter steelhead between them on Cook Creek when lots of fish were in - and they all are good sportfishers unlike Blueback. Fortunately few nates go up that creek anymore from what I've been told by a hatchery employee when I visited there last fall. Although some go above when the electric bars are off. ... They were so overstocked with silvers they were giving them away, primarily to the Quinalts as is proper.
