Gofor: That is a pretty good time for Halibut if you like that fishing. There are some skiff rentals and a ton of charter guys if you like guided fishing. Also, we use to fish dollies below Skilak Lake out of Kenai, but I'm not certain if that is still open. You may be a little early as we normally did that in August after the reds were spawning. The Russian is a Mega-zoo, so if you don't like combat fishing, don't even consider it. There are some opportunities on the streams north of Anchorage, but not familiar enought to help you there. If you get on the Alaska F&G web site, you can e-mail a fisheries guy in the area you are interested in. My experience is that they have been very helpful and fairly prompt in answering questions and providing information. Good Luck and enjoy Alaska.
