periwinkle, that's too funny, those old reels are great stuff. yes, people do put them in glass cases, my father happens to collect old fishing tackle, mainly salmon and steelhead tackle and my mother has let him devote a room in there house to just antique fishing tackle, man there was some cool stuff made back in the day. that's interesting what you say about the old savage, my grandfather started me out with that same gun, but in 308. ya know, i personally think those are still good rifles even in todays world. Like i said before, enjoy that "old" stuff, i'm sure it will bring back a lot of great memmories for ya
