I like float fishing with either setup, depending on the water I'm fishing. Shallower steelhead fishing I prefer a fixed bobber and for 'nooks in deep holes I prefer a sliding bobber. I posted a week or so ago a way to get 2 different depth levels with a cork float on a single drift, to cover the shallower water at the upper end and the deeper water in the center of the hole. I'd repost it here but Os would make fun of it again.
