I just switched out my 8lb UG on my float fishing rod for some 14lb Fireline (hi vis yellow) and - wow! I wish I'd have tried this sooner!

Here's some highlights:
1 smaller diameter (14lb is about 6lb mono diameter)
2 no streth
3 very sensitive
4 low memory
5 casts like a dream (much farther than mono)
6 floats better than mono
7 line control and mending much easier
8 faster hook sets (didn't actually try this one yet, but you felt a lot more connected to the float)

Now I just need to catch a fish on it and see how it feels. I'm hoping it doesn't reduce the excitement of the fight (but increase my confidence in my main line).
My confidence in presentation and ability to cover the water was greatly increased over the 8-10lb mono I normally use.
One thing I was not too impressed with is that for a line that was advertised as hi-vis, once it is cast out away from the spool, it wasn't as bright as I expected. I'll have to try it with spinners/spoons/plugs to see if the hi-vis really helps me keep track of the line.
