i tie mine the way 4salt explains but I tie mine according to the size of the bait.When I am casting from shore I leave my last hook trailing.If it is hanging past the tail the trailer likes to come around and hook the main line.I also like to add a barrel swivel a couple of inches from the hooks,it keeps the line from twisting up and allows the bait to spin easiar.

If you are casting from shore try curing your bait a little before hand it toughens them up which keeps them from flying off the hooks and they last longer. smile
