I like to use Bass pro shops excel brand superline on my light bass spinning rods. much more strength and sensitivity. i like it better than fireline and it is green. ties great knots.
just respooled some with 8 lb berlkey xl and one with the excel. i like to tie my line to something, drag a bunch out (about 70 yards worth today) and reel it back in with tension.( i think it seats the line better) first was the mono, boy could you feel the stretch like a bungie cord. the last reel was the excel. at 70 yards i pulled up like a hookset and no stretch. very impressed. now i realize i gotts start setting the hook less.
