A problem I used to have a lot handling eggs for 12-18 hours per day in AK and then fish slime and wet, dry, wet, dry. By July my hands were so cracked I could barely clench my fist.

I've tried about every potion known to mankind with no success, so I simply started wearing surgical gloves ... presto, solved the problem. If you get the right size, you'll have no problem rowing or tying knots with them on. After 3-4 times using them, you'll forget you're using them.

If you don't want to get a box, we've also used the Playtex Home Health Care gloves that you can find at Safeway and had good luck with those as well ... they're a little thicker and tougher than the standard gloves you'll typically find.
