Let's examine the figures for just a second.

36,000 = Sport caught sockeye in the 3 day season. (Let's pretend that this figure is somewhat accurate )

36,000 = Tribal share (remember the 50/50 split?)

Total run size = 414,00 fish. (best guess estimate)

36,000 + 36,000 = 72,000.

414,000 - 72,000 = 342,000.

Escapement goal for the run = 350,000

It would appear that we're going to fall about 8,000 short because of the season we already had. (Not to mention mortality from C&R )

Please explain how the state would justify extending the season?
