I have an 8 horse Merc. that I bought barely used for $800.00 five years ago. I considered it a steal...and run the heck out of it! Being a one puller even when cold makes it nice to!

If your boat has weight to power limitations keep your new motors added weight in mind. I was going to switch over to the 9.9 four but didn't see the benefit of adding 40 extra pounds.
