I like the Lindy style set up for snaggy ares.
They are also great for non snaggy areas, the wire really ticks the bottom well and you can feel every little pebble.
Only draw backs are the price, little too much for lead.
I make my own and works just as well.

To make these use hollow pencil lead and stick a spinner wire through the lead and crimp the end with eye. pre cut the pencil lead to desire weights and viola you have your own.

Or you can do the same set up as mentioned above but use heat sink wrap and cover the entire lead except for the wire. This gives it that extra slick protection.
