The subject here is a proposed permanent sockeye hatchery on the Cedar River. There will be a public meeting at Renton Tech college October 17th at 7:00 PM. I am personally very much in favor of such an effort because it has the potential of allowing at least some kind of Sockeye fishery every year rather than every 5-6 years. I had a blast last year, mainly because I was able to introduce my kids to salmon fishing without freezing them to death or making them sea-sick. So I will be there with my YES sign and will also be sending in a letter supporting the effort (as suggested by the Northwest Marine Trade Organization in a recent Fishing and Hunting News editorial)
