Yes, I tried it. I twitched jigs using the technique described in the STS article and also under a float. I used it over fall Chinook, early and late run coho, and summer steelhead. My success: zip, zero, nothing. Not even a strike. I switched back to eggs and spinners and did much better.

I can't say the technique doesn't work but I can say it doesn't work for me (yet). I haven't given up on the technique but unless it produces, it's hard to have any confidence in it. Like most anglers, my time on the water is very limited so I stick with what works for me. In the future, I will try twitching jigs if the tried-and-true methods aren't working.

I would add that a number of STS articles seem too good to be true. This may be one of them.
