If you're shooting trap with one eye closed maybe you belong in the woods on opening day of deer season with rifle in hand. That is absolutely the wrong technique. That is, of course, if you're not trying to shoot right handed when, in fact, you are left eye dominant or vice versa. I think your time at CWU has given you a quick wit and proficiency with the keyboard, but you seem to lack much experience at the range be it rifle or trap. If you ever open up to idea of shooting more trap and taking part in some of the different money shoots and long range games it could very well help you in the field. beathead You can go on about chukars and quail and hunting difficult areas for upland game, but it doesn't compare to laboring across the mud in the dark to get to your spot before the tide begins to come in.
