Unfortunately our political campaign system works on legalized bribery. There is a line drawn between legal bribery, where there are ostensibly no strings attached to the donation, and illegal bribery, where there is quid pro quo. It's a very fine line. The whole system is rotten. Since it so greatly favors incumbents there is little chance of it changing.

But there has been nothing come out to indicate that Maria Cantwell has done anything corrupt, as corruption is defined in our political system. Her having received money from Abramoff is not, in itself, evidence of corruption.
