This is something I am going to try the next time out, has anyone ever tried this and had success?

Tie a standard egg loop knot onto your preferred size hook for eggs under a float. Except when the line goes through the eye of the hook for the first time instead of just making it the normal inch or so that is trimmed off, make it a foot long. Now if you tie a jig onto the end of that you have a jig and a foot up the leader you have a hook that you can place your eggs on.

Since they are only a foot apart they should both be in the zone and you are fishing the best of both worlds. Now if you tip the jig with some prawn wouldn't that be the extra value meal at McDonalds. wink This is how we always rigged for perch except we used two jigs instead of a jig and eggs. Every once and a while you would come up with two fish, one on each jig, laugh very doubt full with Steelhead but wouldn't this increase your odds. If they pass the eggs maybe they will take the jig and vice versa. Anyone do this?
