Bob,
After reading my posts over, your right that was a double standard, my bad. Just got a little fired up. I am not sure you can compare fishing in S.E. Alaska to fishing here in the harbor, but I totaly see what you are saying. Different people in different areas. My feelings are that Alaska has a huge sport and comercial fisheries up there, and they've got the fish to do it. Down here the fisheries aren't quite as good. The cowlitz used to be a brat factory, producing the highest number of hatchery steelhead in the state with a little over 773,000 winter smolts released in 99. that river used to take alot of the preasure off of other rivers. Now that the cowlitz isn't producing fish like it used to, people are forced to go else where. Rivers like the Wynoochee and the Kalama take on alot of the added preasure. It's just hard to see rivers 1/4 of the size of the Cowlitz taking on the overflow. Well anyways I've gotta get wrappin on this rod before I decide to make a run for the river.
