LittleZoZo;
I didn't belittle Fishmaster for his plans to join the Corps. I sarcastically pointed out that he felt people in their 30's and 40's don't have a clue simply because they are protesting the impending war. I find it amusing that teenagers consider themselves with keener insight than us middle-aged folk; my son included.

By the way, I spent over 20 years in uniform to "defend your right to do and say such things." I continue to work with the military as a contractor. I know thousands of "war protesters" in the form of mothers, fathers, and spouses. Oh, they support the troops 100%, but they'd rather have their loved ones stay home safe rather than send them to battle.

The scariest people I ever worked with are the ones that viewed their enlistment as some big sporting event and they were just waiting for the big game. Joining the military so you CAN go to war is the wrong idea. That reckless attitude usually ends up in a black zippered bag.

I sincerely applaud Fishmaster for his decision to join the Corps as his family before him did. Just make sure it's being done for the right reasons, with the right attitude.
