To keep from having to "deep clean" is by rinsing in fresh water and drying with a towel prior to putting your gear away in the tackle box. When you get home at the end of the day, spray WD-40 on them. This will keep your expensive gear in prime shape for years to come.

During the course of the day, wrap your gear with a wet rag. This will not allow the gear to dry and get spots on them.

If you absolutely have to clean the gear, NEV-R Dull is a good polisher...

If your gear is antique... leave it as is
