There are holes to go after in Linux. It just needs to be a bigger target to make it worth the black hats time. Also, the bug has to be in a mainstream os to be newsworthy, so even if problems are found, they don't make the non computer related news.

Consider yourself lucky if you haven't been exploited in the past 3 years and haven't installed patches. It is a fact that there have been bugs found in Linux in the past 3 years.

As a reminder, this worm like many of the recent "security bugs" exploited a known bug that had a patch available for a free download before it hit.

The users either chose not to download the update or didn't know to download the update. There is no reason to expect that those same users would download patches for Linux if a similar bug was found in Linux.
