I used Hodgmans, but they began leaking at the ankle seams after about ten uses.

Bought $140 Simms that worked fine, but they seem a little fragile. Poked on micro hole in about 5 trips that was easily repaired, and I wasn't even bushwacking. They don't have built in gravel guards.

Got the Dan Bailey's. After two trips to Alaska (the gravel and silt are always tough on gear there) they're still in great shape. They seem quite durable. The built in gravel guards are an appreciated convenience.

Buy in a slightly larger or longer size so you have lots of flexibility when climbing over things.
