Mike, I was there too, and I was fishing with a kid who wasn't very visible. I saw the gamies checking everybody out with binoculars, then they kept looking at my boat for a long time. When they pulled a u-turn and started coming up beside me, I had my daughter sit up and wave. They still came and talked to me, made sure she wasn't a mannequin, asked if I had any fish they could look at, made sure I was using barbless hooks.

Compared to a week ago, fishing was s-l-o-w. Last week was probably six or eight silvers caught for our limits of four fish, plus two nice big kings c&r'd. Today was a few flounders, a few juvenile salmon, and two real bites. One nice ten pound greenback lost at the net (The hook came off the coho killer, and I noticed last week that the solder on the hook connector was broken beathead ) and one six pounder in the box. Now currently being digested by me, my family and a couple friends. beer

One was on a spatterback coho killer behind a spatterback metal piscator flasher, down 70 feet or so on the rigger, one was on a green/blue coho fly behind a small hotspot down 130 feet on the rigger in 130 feet of water.

It was a beautiful day to be on the water. The derby had things pretty crowded, but the water was flat, no wind, ... the only thing I would have changed is MORE FISH IN THE BOX!
