These chinooks would bite our line before anything else would. They were shallow too. We felt like we could have caught a 100 of them. In this way they acted just like pinks but they were not pinks. They were small chinooks and we verified this with two other boats. All in all just another crazy fishing experience in the Sekiu/NB area.

PS: It proved difficult to distinguish between immature chinook and pinks. The "teenagers" do not have the large black spots and other characteristics that are described in the regs. Both have black mouth colorings and we finally learned that pinks have upper canine teeth (that you have to really look for) and a flexible lower jaw.
