I have been reading the hatchery counts the last couple of weeks and saw the large numbers of silvers hitting the cowlitz salmon hatchery. The trouble is I can't get through the kings that are still hanging around. I fished yesterday and only saw a very few bright fish being caught. Please don't get me wrong, it's a blast reeling those big suckers in on 10# line. I fished till my arm throbed but no silvers. The hatchery reported tons of coho, but very few showing up on the beach.
I have been hanging around the barrier dam and just above Blue creek, I have been throwing orange eggs, and corkies. Does anyone have any better luck than me at these places? Or am I just mental....................?
