For sandshrimp on divers or float, I do the same thing. I use double hooks. I usually tie the double hooks sliding, so I can adjust the distance between the hooks for the size of shrimp. The lb leader, and hook size vary to what you're going for....

Lay the double hook setup along side the shrimp. Don't impale the shrimp on the hooks. So that the top hook is mid tail, and the bottom hook bend is about even to eyes. Now use the ultra thin stretch thread, and do a few wraps around the top hook, then a few wraps around the bottom hook. Do it snug, but not to tight as to crush the shrimp. Also don't use too much, you don't want to mummify the thing. This set up will keep a shrimp natural looking for a while...At least until you get a bite. Add any corkies/spin-n-glos/prop or rag setup you want above the shrimp for the diver set-up. smile
