I like the ones with the most options, i.e. alarms, temp, depth in in 3 or 4 diff units of meas. speed in at least 3 diff units , grey line blue line, 4 or 6 diff. zooms, split screens, color, volume control, lighted , un lighted, 2 or 3 frequencies, distance traveled, interface with radar and gps, battery charge, even had one that played 4 diff. tunes, ( that was the neatest one, alas they quit makin em).

You need all this stuff cause the only fish it's gonna show ya are phantoms, so make sure it paints little fishes on the screen in at least 400 pixtels!

When it's showin ya fish an you ain't catchin em it's nice to look at the pictures!

All the other stuff keeps ya from gettin too bored.

Kiddin aside, there probably isn't a (bad) one out there, just depends on what ya want to spend. The eagle my son got at boater's world is very close to the X-85 I have and it was way cheaper!
