That was fun. I think I ended up with about 3 dozen blue to purple lable size. They are frozen now and I'll vacuum-pack them this evening. I hear the secret is to thaw them in brine. Since I troll mine whole, I'm hoping they will hold up well. This fall, I can use Grays Harbor herring to fish John's River - maybe give me an edge!

I watched a few of the halibut charter boats return with limits of yellowtale rockfish and halibut yesterday. The largest I saw was 57#.
