When the tribes dump between 1.2 and 1.8 million carcasses back in the deep Hood Canal, it will cause problems. It takes oxygen to break down the carcasses. he deep water does not have a lot of oxygen to begin with. If you notice that you only have to go several miles north of the area they mass slaughter the salmon for their eggs and dump them and the problem starts to go away. I have a friend working on this and some of the WDFW knows about it too. Hopefully something can be done about it.
