There are some outfitters that do heli-flyouts to some of the westside Cook Inlet streams (Chuitna, Theodore, Lewis) for kings. Understand that these are "no bait" fisheries, and for at least part of the season in certain areas, I believe they are also C&R.

Personally, I would pass on the Nushagak. Having been there a few years back, I can tell you the fishing is fast and furious, but the river is loaded with 6-12# jacks. Given the choice between a 60-80 fish day fishing over a pile of 6-8 pounders versus a 6-8 fish day with the potential for hooking a 60-80 pounder, I'd take the Kenai any day!

My dream trip for kings remains the Kanektok. I've been saying "one of these days" for over 5 years now.... one of these days, I really am going... just as soon as I can break away from the comfort zone of fishing the Kenai.
