We run rafts and larger cat boats on the middle fork Salmon. I know people who have taken drift boats down it, and there is an outfitter who runs groups of them down. However, he only runs a section and flys the boats back up the river. As it is in the Frank Church wilderness area, there are no roads.. so if you screw up, your drift boats a gonner. It takes several days and is a permit only river. Drawings are held each spring much like a controlled hunt tag. You can run it without a permit before june ( your life is in the balance) and after August ( your boat will get trashed, gets pretty skinny ) But can't think of a cooler place to take a family. Trips are limited to 24 people per permit and they only launch so many a day. Camp sites are assigned at the put in by the forrest service. Several of the camps have hot springs... You get a permit and you will find 23 friends you never knew you had. Its a pack it in / pack it out place and that includes your human waste. Good fishing also.

If you see a Tupper boat you will want to offer them one of your beers because they won't have any..

Hey unity, when your talking good job do you mean like " I work in the Teva dept at REI "... Just ribbin ya and I hope you find your boat.. however, chances are some rednecks have it, already filled it with potting soil and planted flowers in it.
