I've got an AllStar 1264, which is a pretty heavy rod, that I use for floats, chums, and chinook.

It's held up just great for me...my only complaint is that the top three inches of it wasn't strong enough to withstand being closed in the car door .

Other than that, it's cool. I haven't used lighter ones much...I don't own any, but I've casted a few. They feel nice, and they are pretty darn affordable, but I can't speak to the durability.
