I was chinook fishing two years ago. I started at daylight. I was fishing from the bank and had walked in about a mile to my fishing hole. Second cast I caught a keeper. Re-rigged and continued fishing. Soon I had a boat in the lower end of the drift. Fished for about an hour, hooked another. Landed wild female and released her. As I was retying my leader. The boat was now in front of me, just about 10' further than I was casting. So I was kinda angry, but it was good fishing. We fished like this for about an hour when I hook another. It was fighting great. Took one run down stream clear of the boat, so I follwed it a ways beacuase the boat guy evidently wasn't going to move for me. I got the fish about 30' from the bank and of course it freaked out. Back up stream it went and I couldn't turn him. I yelled at the guy look out he is coming for your boat. I almost get it stopped and the guy is looking over the edge of his boat at where my line is in the water. He yells yeah I see it right here. About that time it makes a pass around his anchor line and snap. I lost my fish, full set up, and about 75 yards of line. I am furious and just staring at the guy. I was speechless. First thing out of his mouth was "Wow must have been a good fish to fight like that."
