I'll be there Sunday. A Sept 16th opener there would be absolutely harmless. It's true that when the nets are in that fishery goes to zero. I've spent many hours fishing there, made some friends, and always look forward to next year. It is torture to hear about a failed attempt to have this open for a couple weeks before the nets strip mine that stretch of river. Especially when the nets are going in the day before we're allowed to fish. Reading the initial post here makes me glad that someone else cares enought to rally the troops and try to get WDFW's attention (it's in their backyard for crying out loud, WDFW employees have driven up to chat with me about how fishing is, and I've even fished there with a few of them) but right now I have a sick feeling in my stomach about it.
