Spinners work fine for winter runs, especially wild ones...OK for brats.

Here's where I'll step outside the hero worship...I think Jed Davis' book is an infomercial for his own spinners. Lots of information, but I find about 80% of to be irrelevant, or just plain not true.

He did, however, generate a lot of interest in anglers to use spinners, and I think that's a good thing...they work...but don't get too caught up thinking that because the temperature of the water is 55 instead of 52 that you have to change size and color of spinner or you'll be out of luck...as with most things, how you fish is way more important than what you fish with...if you know how to fish a spinner, then you'll do fine fishing 'em, regardless of what color you are using.

If you don't know how to fish them, it doesn't really matter if you are using the *right* color or not.
