I just spooled up with Power Pro braid on my downrigger rod. Read online about some folks using a mono shock leader at the business end of this set-up. As relates to PS salmon fishing, appreciate an education as to the need for shock leader, how long, what test. I'm tempted to go without but wonder if I'd be screwing up.
