You need a few snatch blocks to make it work. They allow you to turn corners, avoid trees, etc. It doesn't work in every situation, but it will work in many.

We hunt near fields a lot, so straight line pulls are possible but usually never happen, as you usually have to turn a corner or two. I think I have 4 snatch blocks.
