.....from the ocean, all the way up here and into my boat. FInaly get one after two consective years with piss poor returns. I went out saturday and only got one pull off on the downrigger, I did not get to it fast enough. Tuesday, caught a native, and one pull off with no connection. I was wondering why I wasnt connecting when the downrigger popped. I thought it might be the hooks so I went and picked up some MEAN A$$ , Owner, Size 2, stinger treble hooks. Replaced the hooks on several lures, wrapped them up and went out this morning. One hour into it and bam, the downrigger popped and when I got to it, the fish was there on off he went. Those new hooks were the ticket, just burried the back treble in the corner of the mouth. I had never seen a fish bleed like that from hook wounds. Very, very, sharp hooks. The fish mesured 31" by IDFG, and on my un-official scale it was 14 pounds. Man, it was nice to have fresh fish for lunch.
