I have been watching this thread since it started but didn't have much to add. I have been trying to fish 4 days a week, Monday - Thursday for a few hours every morning in Area 10. Our catch rate has been one king for every 20 hours of fishing. The last two days that has changed, fishing alone yesterday and today I managed an 18# yesterday and a 20+ # and lost another good one today at West Pt. A couple of observations, the fish I caught were all larger than what I normally expect, 18, 19 and 20 pounds and every one of them had nothing in their stomach. It seems that they are not feeding in Area 10, maybe they spent time feeding in the ocean, the North Pacific has been colder than normal and coastal ocean conditions have been very productive this summer. I haven't seen many silvers in area 10, in the past years when silvers seemed to be everywhere good numbers of kings were mixed in with them. I think good numbers of kings are going to show in area 10 soon. I heard the WDFW test boat on the radio today, they had a good morning at Kingston for kings and a lot of nice silvers and Addicted's post about his silver success makes me think that they are moving south. Area 9 will probably close soon for kings so even more will be available to move south. I think the next week will be good in area 10.
