My yearly trip offically starts on next Saturday, and goes for a total of 13 days. Work has been crazy, and I am in major need of this trip. The concerns of my normal life are left behind, and I put my efforts towards fishing, and prep work for fishing. As I have gotten older, (started doing this in 1998) this trip starts to wear me down. I got smart this year, and did a bunch of prep work at home. Here are some the fruits of effort.

A good supply of puff balls, or fish pills is essential

I tied up 100 leaders, barbs pinched and ready to go. Also 100 slinkies, 12 shot, .250 size for boondogging . 50 8 shot, and 50 6 shot for sidedrifting. Theres also about 100 hooks ready to go. Plus a 3300 yard spool of maxima ultra green.

As normal, eggs are always hard to get. I have been lucky this year, and have cured and vacuum packed 24 skeins. I just got 8 more skiens, and they are curing in the jar in the front of the picture.

I still have quite a bit to do, but the busy work of preping for the next day while in camp should be lighter this year. Either way, I cant wait. Last year was a struggle, and we had to work for every fish. Im hoping things will be a little better this year with the run. With the Sacramento River closed the Klamath will be a busy place. If your around the area, stop and have a beer.
