Reminds me of two friends long gone. The first was steelheading the Deschutes near Maupin in the late 70s. He was found in the shallows, dead from a heart attack, fly rod still in hand with a length of line trailing downstream with the fly broken off the leader tippet. The second was fishing the Wenatchee River at the County park in 1985 when he too, was discovered laying in the shallows by another angler who saw the floating fly line trailing downstream. He followed it upstream and found my friend, also dead of a heart attack. That might be as good a way to leave this world as there is.
