If they made it private, they could actually lower prices and the state would still make more money. Most the liquor stores near me close at 7:00, which is crazy. Think of how often you'd be heading to Costco to fill up the liquor cabinet versus giving your buddy some coin for his return trip from Reno.

Of course, if they did try to take it public the holier then thou crowd would get seriously bent out of shape. I always loved their TV commercials against booze and gambling. Little kid looking through the glass door, everyone is drinking and pulling on slots. Booze will make you do some crazy stuff..... and they are going to protect you from yourself.

I say take it private. While they are at it, provide non tribal casinos with the same gaming rights as tribal casinos.
